Abel Damina, the Uyo preacher who founded Power City International and Abel Damina Ministries International, holds a place on the companies register of the United Kingdom that lasted one day.
The company is Abel Damina Ministries International, company number 15732462, incorporated on 21 May 2024. Its filing history records that on 18 June 2024 Abel Damina was appointed a director of the company, and on 18 June 2024 his appointment was terminated, and on the same 18 June 2024 his status as a person with significant control over the company ceased. The register entry for the man himself reads DAMINA, Abel, Dr, director, born August 1964, Nigerian, resident in Nigeria, appointed 18 June 2024, resigned 18 June 2024.
The address filed for the resigning director is 369 City Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B16 0NB, and other officers of the company file from 328 Oldbury Road, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, B65 0QJ. The company he entered and left in a single day carries officers who stayed. Thomasyn Quarcoopome, secretary, was appointed on 21 May 2024, the day of incorporation, and Thomasyn Naajadjamah Quarcoopome, director, born November 1974, British, sits on the board, and it was Thomasyn Quarcoopome who was notified to the register as a person with significant control on 18 June 2024, the day Damina’s own control ceased. His appointments record for that company gives his correspondence address as Power City International, 98 Nwaniba Rd, Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, the headquarters of the ministry he founded, with his birth month of August 1964 and his Nigerian nationality and Nigerian residence stated on the filing.
The ministry behind the filings is the structure Damina built from Uyo. Abel Damina Ministries International has its headquarters at 98 Nwaniba Road, Uyo, Power City International carries extension campuses across the globe from the same headquarters, Kingdom Life Network is a Christian satellite television channel of which he is chief executive, the Abel Damina Ministerial Equipping Network carries him as president, and the Power Bible School completes the structure named by the ministry itself. No United Kingdom company or charity registration exists for Kingdom Life Network or for the equipping network.
The rest of his record on the registers is empty, and the emptiness is part of the record. No company in the ICIJ offshore leaks databases carries his name, no offshore company outside the United Kingdom stands in his name, no Land Registry title and no overseas entities filing ties him to a house in the United Kingdom, no court or regulator record stands against him in the pastors files, and no aircraft stands in his name. What stands is the companies register of the United Kingdom, and on it a founder who became a director of the company that carries his own name on 18 June 2024 and ceased to be its director and its person with significant control on 18 June 2024, and the register gives the appointment and the resignation on the one date and gives nothing after it.
