Delta State Governor, Mr Sheriff Oborowheri is currently not having it easy with his godfather, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa, SecretsReporters can authoritatively report.

Despite public denial that all is well between the duo, this medium can confirm that Sheriff is already tired of the immediate past governor’s interference in his government. Okowa has repeatedly complained to close friends and family that he regrets installing Sheriff as a governor.

Sheriff has systematically reduced the political influence of the henchmen planted around him as appointees by Okowa through the starvation of funds to their offices as well as non payments of contracts awarded in the last government to his boys.

Okowa’s right hand men who controlled the government in the last administration are currently wailing and already plotting how to de-market Sheriff and apply the Ambode treatment to him in the next election if he continues to undermine Okowa and his boys.

One of the issues that has irked Okowa is how Sheriff exposed the huge debt nature of the state that he’s still paying, yet the former governor still wany patronage in form of contracts to his boys when there’s no money to pay but just to service debt that he handed over to him.

Another lingering issue that was kept away from the public is the alleged resignation of Okowa’s brother, Mr Tonobok Okowa from his membership of the committee formed for the recently concluded 8th National Youth Games hosted by Delta State.

We gathered that Tonobok met the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Solomon Ogba and told him that his brother, Ifeanyi Okowa has directed that he should be given the contract to supply the uniforms to be used during the competition and the Governor is also aware.

Ogba noted that he was not aware and will need to call Mr Sheriff to confirm, which Tonobok urged him to do on the spot. Ogba according to our sources placed a called Sheriff and asked if he has given the mandate for the supply of the competition uniforms to be supplied by Tonobok.

We gathered that Sheriff immediately flared up in anger over the phone shouting, “No try am o. Give that criminal, that thief? Who say make he collect such contract? The one he thief never do”. The phone was on loud speaker unknown to the governor. Tonobok walked away in shame claimed our sources and immediately deleted Sheriff’s number from his phone and reported to his brother before tendering his resignation from the committee.

This particular one allegedly angered Ifeanyi Okowa before he was detained in EFCC custody for days.

He flew to London after his detention and summoned Sheriff immediately for a meeting which he attended for over a week where he got his commitment not to cooperate with the EFCC to jail him.
