Loyalty Reward: President Tinubu Gifts Former Rep Member and APC Stakeholder, Abasi Braimah Multiple Multi-Million Naira Contracts From Federal Ministry of Power

Records have shown that shortly after his exodus from the House of Representatives in 2011, Abasi Ogwime Braimah who represented Etsako East/Etsako West/Etsako Central of Edo State, unveiled a company he has been using to scoop contracts. 

According to our findings, Braimah who reigned for just one term at the National Assembly under the lower house and was sent packing in May 2011, floated Nanus Investment Global Nigeria Ltd on the 23rd of August 2011 for the purpose of doing business, leveraging the connections he had built at the federal and state level. 

SecretsReporters gathered that in May this year, Braimah, who is a stakeholder of the ruling All Progressives Congress and once served as Chief of Staff to the former National Chairman of the APC, Otunba Niyi Adebayo in 2018, benefitted from the national treasury through contracts awarded to his company. 

Data buried on Govspend, a visual platform launched by BudgIT to provide daily government spending in a simplified way, revealed that in May, at least three contracts were awarded to Nanus Investment Global Nigeria Ltd.

The three contracts, doled out by the Federal Ministry of Power amounted to the tune of twenty five million, nine hundred and twenty eight thousand, five hundred, forty two naira, thirty oen kobo (N25,928,542.31). 

The data revealed that on 30th May 2024, Federal Ministry of Power paid ₦8,647,216.03 to Nanus Investment Global Nigeria Ltd for the “Construction of retaining wall and use of boulders for tower t5, olorunosogo ayede/ ikeja west, 330kv line”.

On 31st May 2024 the same ministry transferred ₦8,553,727.91 Braimah’s Nanus “Being payment of trends venerate nig ltd paid into nanus investment global nig ltd for the construction of retaining wall and use of boulders for tower t38,olorunsogo ayede/ikeja west 330kv line”.

It was also gathered that on 31st May this year, ₦8,727,598.37 left the coffers of the Federal Ministry of Power’s Headquarters “Being payment of trends venerate nig ltd paid into nanus investment global nig ltd for the construction of retaining wall for tower t4,olorunsogo-ayede/ikeja west 330kv line”.

Investigations revealed that Nanus Investment Global Nigeria Ltd was incorporated in Abuja, Nigeria with Registration Number 974220. It was registered on 23 August 2011 and its current status is unknown. The company’s registered office address is No.1, Maotsetung off Jimmy Carter road, Asokoro, Abuja.
