Nigeria today is crowded with individuals who desire to be movers and table shakers of the economy and political godfathers and this is not limited to public office holders or politicians but has in recent times extended to private business moguls with a large appetite for increasing their sphere of influence.

Ibeto Cletus who is a famous entrepreneur and a Nigerian business mogul from the industrial city of Nnewi, Anambra State has over the years become a household name in the production of cement and other investments in Nigeria. However, according to information available to SecretReporters, the business mogul has become a major financier for both serving and past political office holders in other states where he has business interests.

SecretReporters gathered that Ibeto Cletus who is the head of the Ibeto Group; the largest business enterprise in Nnewi, is alleged to be the major financier of the electoral campaign of the former governor of Ebonyi state Martins Elechi after making a deal with him to be granted access to Nkalagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State which is blessed with numerous natural resources including; limestone, gold amongst others in order to expand his business tentacle. Luck, however, ran out on the multibillionaire when Martins Elechi upon his victory at the polls refused to hold up his own end of the deal.

It was further gathered that the CEO Ibeto Group, showing no signs of giving up went on to sponsor 80% of the election of the current Governor David Umahi, making the same deal with him. His hope, however, was also dashed as the present governor also denied him access to the naturally endowed land.

It would be recalled that in recent times, multi-billionaires from the southeastern part of Nigeria sort out states with a massive concentration of natural resources and finance the gubernatorial aspiration of indigenes of the state cascading over themselves in what seems like a battle for supremacy.
