DUBIOUS COMPANY: ETISALAT EXPERIENCE CENTRES USED TO SWINDLE CUSTOMERS IN NIGERIA WITH REFURBISHED PHONES

The last may not have been heard of the ongoing fraud in etisalat experience centres across Nigeria. As reports reaching our news desk has it that, Etisalat has been using their outlets to sell rejected, factory faulty and recalled phones for Samsung.

Findings show that, their outlet at marina, Lagos, sold a faulty Samsung A3, 2016 which was bought at N84, 000 on Sept 26, 2016, with a warranty, but the phone was reported faulty after 2days, after installation by their staff, were the customer got home, and realized he couldn’t hear the voice of anyone who called, except on ear piece.

When it failed to work, but they confirmed a factory fault, and directed the customer to go and repair it at any Samsung repair center in Nigeria, but lamenting to our Reporter, the customer said, the phone heats up terribly that it can’t touch the human skin, it began to shut down and etisalat is demanding for additional N24,000 to repair a brand new phone bought at 84k, claiming water had entered into it his hands.

Further findings reveal that, the Etisalat outlet on marina has kept the phone for weeks, compelling him to bring another N24, 000 for repairs, claiming water entered it. Emefu Ibeayoka have been to their office six times to get a replacement, sent emissaries five times, while the thieves in Etisalat has been playing hide and seek and now blames Samsung.

This is not the first time etisalat has sold refurbished phones to Nigerians at their outlets, as it has become a common practice to them across Nigeria.
