492 NIGERIANS TO SQUANDER N7 BILLION FOR NATIONAL CONFERENCE; AS NIGERIANS KICK AGAINST IT

Except the cries of Nigerians are heard by President Goodluck Jonathan, a handful of Nigerians will become millionaires in few months time. This is not unconnected with the billions budgeted for the proposed National Conference.

A huge amount of N7 billion has been captured by the presidency in the 2014 budgeted for use in convening the project, which will accommodate only 492 Nigerians picked by the elites. The mouth staggering amount is captured in the 2014 budget estimates under the heading “National Dialogue.”
Mr Jonathan has stated that the confab will hold early this year so as to determine how the 2015 election will be, when he received the report from the Presidential Advisory Committee on the National Dialogue.
Senator Femi Okurounmu has been tasked with the responsibility of designing the frameworks for the confab. Another billion to be wasted by the President in the name of conference is the “Hosting of World Economic Forum (WEF).”, which is billed to gulp N4 billion.
Nigerians have condemned the confab, describing it as a waste of national funds and avenue by the president and his cronies to smile to the bank. Information available to us from our presidential source is that major hotels in Abuja have been told to keep all their rooms for the confab members, throughout the duration of their sitting
A reliable source revealed to us that each of the delegate will be paid N120,000 daily fir their accommodation, feeding and transport to fro the venue.
