Following SecretReporters expose on the recent activities of SCC Limited, a construction company engaged in mining activities in Nigeria, the company overly uncomfortable with the publication has reacted while threatening actions.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Mr Samuel Umoh, who earlier refused to comment or identify himself as the Public Relations Officer when contacted to get his company’s reaction to the allegation, expressed dissatisfaction over the reports which he claimed was damaging to the image of his company.

According to the P.R.O who earlier gave a peevish reply on the matter, due efforts were not made regarding the allegations before publication as he quizzed why his initially remark that an official enquiry in person be made at the SCC office was not taken into consideration. He, however, stated that the reason behind his cold-response to the allegations then, was because he was threading with caution in an era where people call and claim to be who they are not.

It would be recalled that a petition had earlier been filed by some Human Rights NGOs and Investigative journalists over the inhumane working conditions of some workers of the mining company as it remains unclear if the company will be taking a spiritual or physical action against this online news medium for the publication which they are not happy with.
