Despite the much trumpeted shout of restoring internal democracy in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Secret Reporters can authoritatively report that the party in Delta State will be fielding consensus candidates, with most of the current elected members in the National Assembly and State House of Assembly given returning tickets.
Top on the list is the current Senator representing Delta North in the Red Chambers, Mr Peter Nwaoboshi, whom the Federal Government named among the looters of national treasury to the tune of N1.5 billion.
According to impeccable sources, Nwaoboshi has been using the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to talk to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who’s a very close friend of his. Nwaoboshi, a known political boy to Saraki is not comfortable with the body language of Okowa, who does not want to interfere with the party primaries, especially in Delta North.
We gathered from internal sources that Saraki has also reached out to the State Party Chairman, Mr Kingsley Esiso, to make sure that Nwaoboshi is returned to the Senate, where he will continue to head the NDDC/Amnesty committee.
As part of the concluded plans to edge out one of the aspirants, Prince Ned Nwoko, we learned that the results will be manipulated to favor Nwaoboshi, who will win Ned with a narrow vote of less than twenty, to make it look like a fair game.
“Ned is playing with fire. If he think he can win Nwaoboshi, who’s a system man and has Saraki to press the buttons for him; he’s wasting his time. Ned will lose to oracle and he will have no chance to challenge, as it will be a narrow win. He better defect now to achieve his ambition, else this may be his last political bus stop”, a familiar source with the plot revealed on phone to Secret Reporters.
