Super Illiterate: Delta Ministry of Lands Shortchanged Self In 2022 Budget Due to Dull Brain Commissioner

Secret Reporters

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa may start shopping for a new Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, as the current one has proven to lack the mathematical ability to handle such a complex ministry that deals with calculations.

Scrutiny of the state 2022 budget by SecretReporters has proved this. The ministry budget despite replicating every budget line item from 2021 to 2022 still committed a huge blunder when it decided to shortchange itself. The budget has N549,536,215 as its highest sum for ‘acquisition/compensation of acquired lands’.

In calculating the total sum needed, the Commissioner, Mrs. Kate Onianwa declared N668,536,216 as what should be approved for her to work with in 2022. This sum has however proven to be wrong as the actual money calculated is N674,536,216, which was exactly the amount inserted in the 2021 budget.

By this action, the Commissioner has denied her ministry of N6 million.
