SECRET UNION: SUG OFFA POLYTECHNIC ALLEGEDLY PRESENTS MERIT AWARD TO CULT GROUPS ON CAMPUS

Secret Reporters

Arguably notorious for paying lip service to the fight on cultism and other related vices in its campuses, the Student Union Government of the Federal Polytechnic Offa according to reports allegedly presented merit awards to three notorious cult groups in the school.

One award was presented to the cult group “Alora” as the finest group on campus, another group “Eye” was presented with the award as the most influential and rugged student on campus, while the third award was presented to “Aye” as the freedom fighters.

With the motive behind the action by the SUG still unclear, sources, however, disclosed that the act was nothing new in the school which over the years have had its student politics riddled with fraud as most of the cult groups exact a high degree of influence on the union election.

Many Nigerians have since called on the Anti-cult Unit of the Nigerian Police to immediately investigate the allegations, while others who condemned the action by the Student Government as it goes against the moral and ethics which the school was established to support opine for an outright sanction on the principal officers of the Student Union Government.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by either the Student Union Government or the University Management over the pictures and allegations.
