Secret Reporters

In what can best be described as man inhumanity to man, the Delta State Commissioner for Basic Education, Chinedu Ebie, a returnee from the United Kingdom, who mysteriously escaped going to jail with James Ibori for money laundering, has continued to preside over a ministry where he makes millions of Naira from the sweat of the teachers.

Following various reports by Secret Reporters on how he deducted N5000 from each primary school teachers to enable him through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), we gathered that he quickly directed that the money be refunded to the teachers. SUBEB dispatched a letter to the teachers whose money were deducted to pen their names down in order to get refund.

Soon after the heat died down, we gathered that Ebie went into a new style of fraud by conniving with the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Delta State Executive to unleash another round of extortion on the poor teachers alongside the SUBEB board members.

Ebie again directed that the money should not be refunded but rather that of other months be deducted from their salaries till the money to buy his One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira laptop is completed by the teachers.

True to his plan, the salaries of March has already been deducted while that of April that is yet to be paid to them has also been deducted and diverted to a yet to be identified account allegedly linked to Ebie. The system of deduction is planned with the bank that pays for automatic deduction even before alert enters the account of the teachers.

We had earlier reported on how the sum of Eight Thousand Naira was also deducted from every Secondary School Teachers by Ebie in the name of Biometric verification.
