NSITF AS A GLOBAL BRAND; THE DEAD AGENCY NGOZI OLEJEME BREATHE LIFE INTO

I will be basing this epistle on the turn around of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) on two key quotes of our great yesterday men.

“To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart”.-E. Roosevelt
“The mediocre leader tells. The good leader explains. The superior leader demonstrate. But the great leader inspires” – W. A. Ward.

It never came as a surprise for those that hitherto know Chief Mrs Olejeme, the magical wand in turning around the fortune of the once comatose institution into the envy of all, making it a world class institution in fund management, as she has demonstrated same capacity in time past.

It takes only a committed heart to manage a fund institution with great accountability and transparency and this Dr. Olejeme has been able to do to the admiration of all at the board.

As a great leader who instills team work and inspires the followers to greater heights. Chief (Mrs.) Ngozi Olejeme mobilized board of Directors of The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) as led by her to turn around the institution which had almost gone bankrupt.
As a great leader Dr. Olejeme rallied and galvanized the support of all the board members, inspired the management team and the institution on the right path.

Before the appointment of Chief Mrs. Olejeme as the chairman of NSITF by the then President Yar’Adua, it should be noted that the institution was near dead waiting to be buried before the intervention of a world class administrator in the person of Dr. Olejeme.
Also before her coming, NSITF has become a shadow of itself, and was owing its less than 200 staff in backlog of salaries. This negative development, caused some of the staff to leave NSITF in search of better jobs elsewhere or what some people will call greener pastures.

It was the inspirational management of Dr. Olejeme that changed the sorry story for good.

The chairman restructured NSITF and turned an institution with less than 200 staff without salary to a super employment status with over 6,000 staff in it’s pay roll and salary coming as at when due, less than 5 years of being at the helm of affair of the institution.

We are all living witness to how things work in the country. It took a greater act of intellectual engagement by Dr. Olejeme to lobby the National Assembly to pass into law, the Almighty Employees Compensation Act, ECA 2010. This Act unarguably gave life to NSITF. Not yet done, she also pressured the President to sign it into law.
This law, no doubt is one of the integral legacy bequeathed to the Nigerian masses by President Jonathan.

Apparently, one of the best appointment made by Yar’Adua and Jonathan; Olejeme changed the fortune of NSITF and made it a darling of all job seeker in today Nigeria.

An Amazon of inestimable value, a workaholic, Dr. Olejeme wouldn’t stop at half way, she has made NSITF to be a global player under her leadership as the chairman of board of directors. NSITF received one of the most sort after certification, the coveted ISO 270001 2013 certification of the British Standard Institute, BSI. This certification made NSITF to join the enviable league of Central Bank of Nigeria as the only two public and governmental institution to be so certified by BSI in the country.
This has placed NSITF as a globally competitive institution.

From the foregoing, it is my ardent believe that Chief (Mrs) Ngozi Olejeme has performed credibly well in her role as leader of the board by turning around and waking the once dead agency into a global institution of international repute.
