NEAR BLOODBATH IN ASABA AS CORRUPT FMR GOV. EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN SENDS CULTISTS TO DISRUPT PROTEST CALLING FOR HIS ARREST AND JAIL

But for the gallantry of the anti corruption protesters who called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to prosecute the immediate past corrupt governor of Delta State, Mr Emmanuel Uduaghan; Asaba would have been set on fire on Wednesday.

The Anti Corruption group led by Fejiro Oliver and Charles Pemu gathered in front of the State Government House and demanded that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa begin the immediate probe of Uduaghan, while also calling on the EFCC to stop their delay in prosecuting him also.

Barely had the protest started when twelve cultists recruited by Mr Uduaghan stormed the venue in tricycles and attacked the anti corruption group, while the Police Officers including the Chief Security Officer of Government House, Mr Lawrence Oshiegbu looked on, as they try to cause mayhem.

The group however resisted them and pursued them away, while their leader, one Mr Samuel Meyiwa Khali who was watching from Infant Jesus saw his men overpowered speedily ran away, and threw his heavy Ipad in the process into an unknown place.

According to source among the Pro Uduaghan group, the Ex Governor directed his thugs to come to Government House with ten litres of petrol to be thrown on the ground and fired with gunshot, so as to cause serious damage and burning down of Government House. When they attempted to do so, the anti corruption group held their hands of the thug who was inside a Toyota Camry and seized the petrol from him, with severe beating.

After pursuing them from the venue, the protest held properly, with Police Officers guarding the Government House gate instead of the protesters who were attacked. Speaking to the crowd, Fejiro Oliver disclosed that the interest of the group is for the love of Delta and to get Uduaghan to account for over N1.4 trillion looted by him in eight years in office, an action which done will stop future governors from stealing the commonwealth.

On his part, Charles Pemu stated that Uduaghan must be jailed as the state cannot be compared to Akwa Ibom, Calabar or Rivers State despite the huge allocations collected by Uduaghan. The Itsekiri born activist called on the people to rise in one voice and join the crusade without ethnic sentiment.
