Umar Ogbanwo

Youths under the aegis of Nasarawa State Youths Network (NASTYNET) yesterday 16th January, 2014 hailed President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for signing the anti-gay bill into law, despite criticism from some International communities.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National President, Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah, The group noted that the bill passed due legislative process and therefore became extremely important for President Jonathan to approve it in line with democratic system of Nigeria.
“As the most powerful black Nation in the world, we cannot condone such devilish and dehumanizing acts which are apparently manifestation of a serious moral and social decadence in the western world where such moral-ills are common”.
“ The International Community that has opposed the law as a violation of human rights, they can say whatever they like, but we must continue to stand on the basis of what is right and acceptable to our culture and religious”, It said.
“It is imperative to let the whole world know that Nasarawa State Youths are fully in support of the law banning same sex marriage”, it added.
The group therefore urged Nigerians to shun sentiment, and sustain such understanding and cooperation which are desirable elements for enhancing development, socio-cultural integration and general standard of living which shall in turn promote peaceful co-existence of the citizens.
