If the Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC) or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) go extra miles to fish out corrupt individuals with negative practices in Delta state, then Mr. Eugene Inoaghan will be a culprit as his deeds are jaw dropping to be overlooked.
Despite the tactics employed by the ICPC team and the eagle eyes of the EFCC, Eugene Inoaghan who was once the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and sworn in on January 8, 2018 as the Local Government Chairman representing Sapele Local Government alongside 24 other chairmen seems to be magically evading their radar as he constantly uses his position as means to loot funds and drain subordinates.
Eugene, who has been on seat for barely five months, sources told SecretReporters, has been in the business of misappropriating funds meant for tangible projects in the Council, as he spends millions of Naira monthly for selfish purposes.
Investigations by our reporters revealed how he misappropriates salaries meant for his three Personal Assistants (PA), who are known to always sit under the tree, as he drastically cut their payment from N100,000 to N40,000 while he pockets the remaining N60,000 monthly with three months salaries from January to march unaccounted for.
He’s also accused of collecting over N150,000 in the name of maintaining the security and Hilux vehicles attached to him, but he’s not seen using the Hilux meant for security backup. The Environmental conscious fellow as he claims to be, also uses the monthly sanitation exercise to extort over N800,000 from which he utilizes less than N200,000 for the cleanliness of Sapele environs, alleged one of our sources.
The Chairman who is now known to have a gluttonous love of money recently in a bid to siphon more into his bank accounts embarked on a minor renovation of the local government Council Secretariat, a view seen by indigenes of Sapele as daylight fraud and an avenue to divert cash to his pocket.
Further allegations made against Eugene are his attitude and the approach which he uses to extorts funds from individuals especially the way he deliberately forces Keke Riders Union in Sapele to pay him cash-in-hand N400,000 monthly.
Efforts to reach the Council boss to speak on these allegations were unsuccessful, as he didn’t pick his calls nor returned it.
