Secrets Reporters

This may not be the best of time for the new Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah who will be explaining to his boss, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa in this week State Executive Council (SEC) meeting why the state owned paper, Pointer Newspaper is no longer gracing the news stand as often as it should be.

According to very reliable sources, Pointer will soon be folding up completely considering Okowa’s nonchalant attitude towards its performance, which is a far cry from what his predecessor, Emmanuel Uduaghan who used to see to its effective production.

The sources who decried the governor insensitivity to the growth of the paper revealed that high powered government sources consistently told them to make sure they report only good news on the governor, even when it’s becoming obvious that he has lost the goodwill of Deltans and using snail style of governance.

“All our reports always praise him and his aides; hence Deltans no longer take us serious. In short, some of them send us messages asking us if its Okowa’s private newspaper”, a management staff lamented to this medium when questioned on why they are no longer publishing constantly.
