Owning properties in foreign countries is one of the achievements of most Nigerian politicians, despite the exuberant price of these properties. A major country Nigerian politicians go to buy property is the United Arab Emirates. This is due to its laws that favour corrupt politicians in Nigeria.

Among several figures popular in the political space who owns properties in Dubai is a current serving Senator, Mr Ike Ekweremadu, SecretReporters can authoritatively report.  Ike Ekweremadu who in recent times became a centre of attraction in the international space due to his connection with alleged organ harvesting has been found to own two properties in Dubai.

Recall that in the previous week, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, were arrested by UK police for conspiring to bring a child to the UK for organ harvesting.

Findings by SecretReporters reveal that the former Deputy Senate President acquired two flats in Al Barsha South Fourth, located in the heart of Dubai. He has been in the Senate for over nineteen years and will not be returning as his plot to govern the state during the last Peoples Democratic Party primaries in Enugu State was scuttled by the incumbent governor

Documents attached to the property show his date of birth as 5/12/1962, with Passport Number A50194497 issued on 7/15/2016 with an expiry date of 7/14/2021 and Dubai contact number + 971-50-5689860

SecretReporters findings estimated the cost of owning a property at the Al Barsha South Fourth in Dubai to be between N67,000,000 to N400,000,000.

The amount used in purchasing these apartments in Dubai could have at least been able to establish a Kidney Centre, for the people of Enugu West the constituency he represents in Enugu state

A rough breakdown for the establishment of a Kidney centre, includes, a basic dialysis machine costing about N2,880,203, One technician would be required for 2-3 machines at a salary of about N130,918/month. A Staff nurse would be required for every two patients and the salary would be about N78551/month. Single dialyzer dialysis would cost N292,950. A Nephrologist on retainership for supervision would charge about N314204 per month for one hour per day retainer-ship, amounting to a total sum of N3,696,826.

No doubt a kidney centre in Enugu state would have prevented the recent scandal that senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife are currently battling.
