Fejiro Oliver

Information reaching our news desk from Akwa Ibom State reveals that the dread Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) is now in the State.
A source who is in the know stated that a corpse was brought in from Port Harcourt for burial in Abak, a town in the State and close to the capital.
According to our source, the dead body was handled by the same mortuary attendants who washed late Dr Iyke Enemuo body, who died of the EVD after secretly treating a diplomat in a yet to be identified hotel and also kept close to him unknowingly as the wife never disclosed to them that the husband died of EVD.
The State Government we gathered is already in the know but has decided to keep the information secret to avoid creating fear in the minds of residents. We however learnt from sources within the State Ministry of Health that the Commissioner for Health is complaining that the Federal Government has not released funds to set up a quarantine centre in the State, thus making them handicap.
Further findings by us revealed that a man who reported to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) complaining of having Ebola symptoms since his return from Lagos was sent back, because the hospital has not provided quarantine ward for Ebola patients.
