Unless there is any last-minute change of plans, thePeoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be having immediate past governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as its National Chairman when they will be having their next convention, SecretsReporters can authoritatively report.
According to very competent sources in the know of Okowa’s deft plan, he has started secret consultations including using political allies to reach out to founding fathers and leaders of PDP to start propelling his ambition. “This is coming at millions of dollars cost carted away from the Delta State coffers when he was governor”, alleged a source.
One of his selling points according to a confidant of the governor who informed this online media is his promise to make sure that the Supreme Court gives favorable judgment to his godson, Sheriff Oborowheri and consolidate his hold as Delta State Governor where he intends to use public funds to contest for the party’s top position.
We gathered reliably that Okowa has promised to see the merger of the PDP, Labor Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (PDP) with Peter Obi running as the President in 2027 to wrestle power from Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) with a one term promise extracted from Obi to hand over power to Okowa who will do just one term before returning power to the North.
To ensure the success of the merger and its funding, getting total control of Delta State government through the instrumentality of the Supreme Court has been assured by Okowa to those pushing his candidacy stated our sources. With the money from the state, states under the APC control will be funded by Delta State, noted an impeccable source.
Meanwhile, we gathered that this is the second betrayal Okowa will be engaging in his life, having promised Bukola Saraki, who’s angling to be the party’s Chairman of his support but now going behind him to scheme for same position. During the 2023 Presidential election, he led the Southern governors to sign an agreement never to accept to be the running mate to any frontline candidate, only to go back and supported Atiku Abubakar with an underground deal to be picked as the party’s VP which was done, an action that caused outrage which led to the party’s division spearheaded by the G5 governors of PDP.
