This may not be the last of the dirty activities of the Special Assistant to Udom Emmanuel on Students’matters, Otobong Akpan, as reliable sources who spoke with Secret Reporters said, due to her neglect of the students’ community, and the faction which she created in National Association of Nigerian Students’(NANS), Joint Campus Committee(JCC) in Akwa Ibom state, where she was said to bring her loyalists to form another illegal committee, led by her protégé, Students’ union in the state, last year came together to pass a vote of no confidence on Otobong, to express their dissatisfaction on her.
Irked by this development, we gathered that, Otobong reported the matter to the State Security Service (SSS) in Uyo, where she personally laid a complaint against the immediate past Students’ Union President of National Open University,(NOUN), Ini Lawson, as one of the persons who passed a vote of no confidence on her, who wants her out as the S.A.
This prompted an SSS invitation to Ini, who declined the SSS invitation. We further gathered that, the state PDP publicity secretary, Ini Ememobong and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, had to intervene in the matter, as former students’ leaders, informing the SSS, that it was a student matter, which will be resolved within.
Further findings reveals that, the Senior Special Assistant on Technical Matters to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr.Ufot Ebong is the sugar daddy to Otobong Akpan, which we gathered, brought her as the SA on students,’ even when she has no certificate to occupy the office, also intervened in her case with the students.sources said.
We have also been reliably informed that, the SA on New Media to Udom Emmanuel, was also brought to the Governor by the same Ebong. It could not be ascertain at the time of this report, if she was among the group of SAs with no qualifications.
