Delta State Governor plans total sweep in guber primaries like legislators own

Press release

On Saturday, November 29, 2014, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) conducted primaries into the Delta State House of Assembly. A common feature in all the local government areas is the peace, transparency and camaraderie that characterized the exercise.
We commend the maturity and discipline displayed by all the contestants and the diligence of officials of the PDP that conducted the primaries. The peaceful conduct and outcome show that PDP in Delta State is one disciplined party.

The fact that the exercise was totally rancour-free even with the large number of contestants in every constituency underscores the sterling leadership qualities of Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, governor of Delta State and leader of the party, who painstakingly ensured that there was a level playing field for all the contestants.

With the House of Assembly primaries as a template, we are confident that the House of Representatives, Senate and Governorship primaries that will soon follow will be equally peaceful and transparent.

We urge all members of the PDP and contestants in Delta State to continue to uphold the party’s tenets of fairness, discipline, loyalty and camaraderie so that the state will retain its status as a 100 percent PDP state.

To those that emerged as flag bearers to the House of Assembly election, we congratulate them and urge them to deepen their excellent relationship with their constituencies for total victory in February 2015.

Signed

CHIKE C. OGEAH Esq
Honourable Commissioner for Information
