Contractor Martins Onyema Nnamani Accused of Scam By Ashmusy Found To Be Defrauding Federal Government Too

Secrets Reporters

The troubles of Obinna Martins Onyema Nnamani, a contractor and director of JOMARS Integrated Services Limited, appear far from over as shocking revelations continue to emerge about his alleged fraudulent activities, not only against individuals but also the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Social media was recently set ablaze when popular influencer and entrepreneur, Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, took to her Facebook page to publicly call out Nnamani for allegedly scamming her of a whopping ₦33 million. In an emotionally charged post, Ashmusy detailed how she painstakingly raised the money, including taking on difficult advertisements, only for Nnamani to disappear after collecting it under the guise of handling a building project in Enugu.

“Obinna Martins Nnamani has refused to pay me my 33 million naira for over a year!!!! This is his contact… do not ever do any business with this man. He is a real full-blown scammer… Obinna, pay me my hard-earned money!!! I worked hard, suffered a lot, took adverts I was not supposed to take just to make this money up to pay you… CRIMINAL OBINNA FROM ENUGU!!! Pay me!” Ashmusy posted.

Intrigued by this high-profile accusation, SecretsReporters launched an investigation into the business dealings of the embattled contractor. Findings revealed a disturbing pattern of deceit that extends beyond private individuals to alleged economic sabotage against the Nigerian government.

A check with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) showed that Nnamani is a director of JOMARS Integrated Services Limited, a company registered on April 1, 2008, under RC number 738897. However, what raises a red flag is that the company’s tax status is marked as inactive, indicating it is not in compliance with statutory tax obligations, effectively making it a tax-evading corporate entity.

This status suggests that JOMARS Integrated Services Limited, while potentially bidding for and receiving government contracts, has not been remitting its taxes, thereby shortchanging the government and the Nigerian public. In a country where tax evasion cripples public infrastructure and services, such behavior qualifies as economic fraud.

The company, whose registered legal address is No.12 Jonas Street, Jikwoyi Phase II, Abuja, lists Martins Onyema Nnamani and Jonathan Onyema Nnamani as its directors. While the CAC record shows the company is still legally recognized, its failure to pay tax implies fraud.

With this dual track record of alleged fraud, civil society groups and anti-corruption advocates are now calling on the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to launch a full-scale investigation into JOMARS Integrated Services Limited and its director, Martins Onyema Nnamani.

“If this company has been awarded any government contract without tax compliance, then that’s fraud against the state. It must be prosecuted accordingly,” a tax analyst told SecretsReporters.
