CISMA CALLS ON BUHARI, OKOWA TO CALL CHEVRON NIGERIA LIMITED TO ORDER

…give Ugborodo community in Escravos their fair share

The Concerned Itsekiri Social Media Activists (CISMA) has in the past days watched with ulmost dismay, consternation and trepidation the unwarranted neglect of her social cooperate responsibities by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), Escravos to her host Ugborodo community in Warri South-West Local Government Area in Delta State.

An on the spot assessment of CISMA representatives to Ugborodo was indeed a tale of two cities; a Chevron Nigeria Limited facility with all the beautiful amenities of life, good drinking water, electricity, good health system, good roads, security etc and a host community of Ugborodo with no light, no drinking water, no roads, no health facilities, just nothing. It could best be described as the biblically story of Heaven and Hell fire, where CNL been the Heaven with all the beautiful glory and the host communities been the hell fire where no one wants to belong.
In a statement made available to pressmen the group through her coordinator Prince Onesan Oritseweyinmi Jerry pleaded with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Delta State Governor, President Mohammad Buhari, Senator Dr. Ifeanyin Okowa respectively and all concerned to call Chevron to order, by giving these communities her fair share.

As at the time of making this publication, the group noted that Chevron have been playing hide and seek game with the said communities which is not a good omen for the realization of the change and prosperity agenda of the Buhari and Okowa led Federal and state government respectively. Recall that the women of these communities came out in their numbers since Saturday, 8th August, 2015 to protest the abandonment and neglect of CNL to their communities which have been peaceful host for decades. A development that saw to the lockdown of the Chevron facility in Escravos.
