BRIBING GOD: GOV. UDOM TO WASTES N10 BILLION IN BUILDING WORSHIP CENTRE FROM PARIS DEBT FUND MEANT FOR SALARIES

Secret Reporters

In another brazen display of power by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, a widely disapproved project will soon be undertaken in the state by him.

The Federal Government had earlier disbursed the sum of N34 billion in three tranches to States including Akwa Ibom state, with a clear instruction to use the monies and offset salary, pension and gratuity bills of its workers. The Akwa Ibom state government apparently had other ideas as to how the money will be utilized, Secret Reporters has learned.

In a state reputed for its disregard of public opinion in the affairs of the state (as seen in its ongoing construction of a governor’s lodge in Lagos, despite widespread criticism from the citizens as to the usefulness of the project to a state in dire need of visible development), the state government has concluded plans to build a Worship Centre in the state.

The Commissioner for Finance who had earlier stated the sum of N3 billion has been budgeted for the project, backtracked to say that its actually N10 billion that’s the estimated budget which has caused a stir among citizens on why government would waste such an outrageous sum on a project that adds little or nothing to the economic well-being of the state.

Following social media backlash of the project, the Commissioner of Information, Mr Charles Udoh has come out to say that the funding of the Ecumenical Centre will be undertaken by donations from NGOs, organization, religious bodies and individuals with the government only contributing a “negligible percentage” to the project.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye did the groundbreaking where the Worship Centre would be built.
