Sequel to the publication sometime last year on the above subject matter, we wish to clarify some issues relating to the matter between Frank Ijege, the dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Emmanuel Kenen and his supervisor Dr. Vitalis Tarhule. There was no plan, connivance or any reason for that matter, to frustrate Frank Ijege.
As at the time the list for law school was being compiled last year, his project had been appropriately scored and graded but was not recorded and it is neither the fault of the dean nor that of his supervisor. The ASUU strike at that time was the cause.
Benue State University as an Institution takes pride in encouraging its best brains and not frustrate them as insinuated in that article; a lot of instances abound.
The Faculty had graduated a First Class student went to graduate with a First Class at the Nigerian Law School. It is therefore not in its culture to frustrate students. We wish to retract that story and apologize to the authorities, including the dean and the project supervisor.
