Despite various warning by the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa to all his aides to desist from every act of corrupt practices capable of tainting his administration image, we can report factually that some of his aides are bent on sabotaging his government.

Angered by various negative reports done against some of the appointees by the media, especially those sympathetic to the governor’s administration, one of the aides best described as fourth class grade of appointee, Mr Smart Ikem has taken to his Facebook page to post a controversial statement calling on support for Okowa.

A clear search by some expert revealed that Mr Ikem was not really after supporting the governor, but subtly appealing to critics of the government and journalists to stop exposing the corrupt practices of the aides, who are mostly known to be in the government to loot the common patrimony of Delta.

Hiding under the banner of asking both the social media and new media aides to the governor to merge their alleged supporters, he advocated thus in paragraph ten “Furthermore, it will also be stated that anyone who claims to be a friend and a loyalist of the governor; and yet tends to war against governor’s appointees either for personal gains or differences should also desist from such act as this portends nothing; but political immaturity and suicide”.

Ikem who is a member of the Technical and Vocational Board was appointed under the platform of a pressure group called Deltans Diaspora. Even when his boss and superiors in the office never threw thanksgiving to celebrate their appointments, he had a mini celebration in the hope that he will recoup back his money through contracts that will be executed by him in his locality, claimed a source. Some of the contracts listed in the 2016 Delta State budget to be done using a registered company owned by him has been released to this medium.

In the past few weeks, he has abandoned his duty post to be posting only on Facebook, an action many Deltans see as not just only sycophantic but distracting. “You know his tenure is just three years instead of four years, so he’s just trying to buy favor from the governor to extend it. Is he the only one that worked for Okowa in his group?” an angry aide to the governor responded to our enquiry if the recent action by Ikem is right.
