In apparent bid to show his paymasters that they are working in his interest, the Akwa Ibom State Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) partisan Chairman, Mr Patrick Albert and some government pay roll journalists gathered at the State NUJ Secretariat to pass a vote of confidence on former Gov. Godswill Akpabio doll baby governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, like the Senators passed on Bukola Saraki.
According to our sources who participated in the government sponsored event codenamed ‘emergency media interaction’ between publishers and editors of community newspapers who have been bought by the governor; Mr Albert almost cried over the manner in which some newspapers are making him look like his incompetent to control his colleagues.
“You need to see his face like a preacher, the way he was shouting that some papers are not playing game with him. He was almost crying like a baby as he was speaking to us that Udom is not happy with him, as if he owns our paper”, a source revealed.
During the interactive session, Albert singled out the most prominent newspaper in the state, Global Concord as being too harsh on the activities of Mr Udom, especially in one of their screaming headline that read ‘Armed Robber Governor’.
Albert is well known to always go around any governor and government officials, while only inspecting projects as if he is a Commissioner than a journalist that he should be.
