The rot in Kogi State is just beginning as the Chief Revenue officer in the state; Alhaji Yakubu Oseni has also dipped his hands in the cookies.

Oseni who is the Chairman of the Kogi State Board of Internal Revenue and gearing up to represent Kogi Central in the Senate in 2019 has given himself a befitting home, built in the highbrow city of Abuja, from billions allegedly stolen by him from the Kogi State revenue account.

In a petition obtained by SecretReporters, an anti corruption group called the Anti Corruption and Integrity Forum alleged that Oseni in conspiracy with the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, Mr. David Edward Onoja, who’s the Chief of Staff and the State All Progressive Congress (APC), Chairman Bello Abubakar diverted a whooping sum of N3 billion of the tax paid by Dangote Group.

The money we gathered was diverted into nine accounts, allegedly created for the sole purpose of laundering. Skye Bank according to findings aided Oseni to divert the funds into other bank accounts numbers namely: 0431486029 at First City Monument Bank, 2017770110 at First Bank, 0057904831 at Ecobank, 1015503782 at United Bank of Africa, 0025013646 at Union Bank, 1130071472 at Zenith Bank, 4030014272 at Zenith Bank, 0018496916 at Unity Bank, 0709993397 at Access Bank. The funds were also laundered from account numbers 2882050558 at Ecobank, 1012670779 and 1130020085 at Zenith Bank, 0000106201 at Kogi Savings and Loans and account numbers 1751069541, 1751069383, 1751069280 at Skye Bank.

As soon as the money hit the account, Oseni went overdrive by purchasing a land and building an eye popping mansion in less than one year. The multibillion Naira mansion is located at No. 1, Magaji Muazu Crescent off Patrick Yakowa Road, Asokoro, Abuja. When Yahaya Bello visited the house, he was stunned. sources quoted him as opening his mouth to say “Oseni, you did this? Pray”,in what was described as a warning for him to prepare for EFCC or ICPC probe.

All attempts made to reach Oseni were unsuccessful as his known mobile phone line was permanently switched off.
