Looting Pipeline: National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Awards ₦342 Million Contracts To Newly Registered Company

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has drawn attention after disbursing a total of ₦342,116,650.67 to a company that had existed for just about a year.

At first glance, the transactions appear to be routine payments made, services rendered, and records filed. But a closer look raises quiet, persistent questions. The beneficiary, C-Edge Solutions and Services Nigeria Limited, received three separate payments from the agency in 2025, each tied to consultancy and procurement services.

On 26 November 2025, NASENI released ₦250,441,860.47 to the company for consultancy services connected to its participation in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Programme, an initiative intended to reposition Irrigate Nigeria. The payment was processed under official documentation, complete with reference numbers and codes.

A month later, on 29 December 2025, another ₦80,829,540.20 was paid to the same company for the procurement of computers and accessories for a directorate within NASENI’s headquarters.

Months earlier, on 29 August 2025, ₦10,845,250.00 had also been disbursed for ICT equipment for special assistants.

Corporate records show that C-Edge Solutions and Services Nigeria Limited was registered on 27 May 2024. The timing is significant; it places the company just a year before the first of these payments was made.

Under the Public Procurement Act 2007, companies seeking federal contracts are expected to present evidence of tax payments for three years preceding their bids, alongside audited financial statements covering the same period. These requirements are not mere formalities; they are meant to ensure that public funds are entrusted to entities with verifiable experience and financial standing.
