Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Staff, Lawal Balarabe Ibrahim, Connives With Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic Lecturer, Sani Ibrahim Yar’adua To Defraud Federal Government Of Over ₦180 Million

Documents have revealed how Lawal Balarabe Ibrahim, an administrative assistant with the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Sani Ibrahim Yar’adua, a staff member of the Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic Katsina State, were involved in contract racketeering using the company, NDA Technical Services Limited, violating the Code of Conduct and Tribunal (CCBT) Act.

The law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CCBT Act), dictates that public officials should not own or run a private company while employed as full-time staff. However, such laws do not apply if the company or business is in the farming sector. 

Perusing Govespend, a government portal that tracks and analyses federal government spending over time, it was discovered that on December 18, 2021, Upper Niger RBDA made the payment of ₦50,133,468.13 to NDA Technical Services Limited for the rehabilitation of the earth dam and construction of a solar-powered b/h

On December 31, 2022, Upper Niger RBDA made a payment of ₦64,441,777.83 to NDA Technical Services Limited for the maintenance of boreholes in Niger, Kaduna, and FCT.

On August 15, 2023, Upper Niger RBDA made a payment of ₦65,581,395.57 to NDA Technical Services Limited for the rehabilitation of the earth dam/construction of boreholes in Daddara town, Katsina state, executed by NDA Technical Resources Ltd. 

It was discovered that the company NDA Technical Services Limited was registered in Katsina State, Nigeria, in May 2013 with registration number 1114150.

The company has three key management staff member among who are;  Lawal Balarabe Ibrahim, an administrative assistant with the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Sani Ibrahim Yar’adua, a lecturer at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic Katsina State.
