In what has been described as a disgraceful and deeply embarrassing moment for the Delta State education system, the Principal of Asaba Model Technical College, Mrs Uwuijaren Violet Okite, brought shame not only upon herself but also upon the Delta State Government and its people during a surprise visit by the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Obi Professor Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge (SAN)

In a video obtained by SecretsReporters, the Asagba of Asaba is seen arriving with his entourage at the principal’s office, where he began to explain the purpose of his visit.

He stated that he had come to assess the relationship between the school and the host community, expressing concern that his people were not fully aware of the institution’s presence or its educational processes and how these could benefit them. He further noted that he intended to see things for himself, ask relevant questions, and gain firsthand insight into the school’s operations and educational delivery. However, the monarch’s unannounced visit was met with a cringeworthily display of ineptitude. To the astonishment of all present, Mrs Okite began reading an “appreciation speech” from her mobile phone, a move that stunned the royal visitor and exposed a glaring lack of professionalism and preparedness.

Clearly taken aback, the Asagba queried how she had been informed of his unscheduled visit. Rather than respond appropriately, Mrs Okite feigned ignorance and continued reciting her poorly written, pre-prepared speech, visibly struggling to articulate even the most basic words.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education had not issued any official statement regarding the incident. Likewise, Mrs Okite has yet to offer any public explanation for her conduct.

The Delta State Government has repeatedly been criticised for enabling mediocrity and turning blind eyes to obvious incompetence, within its public institutions. This latest incident reignites calls for a total overhaul of the education sector and for decisive disciplinary action against individuals whose actions tarnish the image of public service.

Asaba Model Technical College is a government-owned institution located in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, Nigeria. Established under the Delta State Ministry of Technical Education, the college aims to provide practical and vocational education to equip students with skills relevant to the modern workforce.

The college offers a range of technical and vocational programmes designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Barely five (5) months after we reported on how Tony Okowa, the Commissioner in Charge of Sports and younger brother to the State governor rained slaps on the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Festus Agas, for not treating his file, a similar incident played out last week Friday.

The slapping saga this time is not within Governor Okowa’s cabinet but is now targeted at innocent Deltans who diligently work to feed their families as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Governor, CSP George Onyise Efiezomor recently attacked a mechanic in his workshop for parking behind his car in a video seen by SecretReporters.

According to an eyewitness, trouble started when CSP George Efeizomor who went to eat his native soup (Ofejuju) and pounded yam at a restaurant by House on the Rock Church along DBS road parked his car in a mechanic workshop belonging to one Mr Ola Coker who was said to have gone to test drive a customer’s car. Mr Coker on returning to his workshop discovered that someone had packed in the space he removed the customer’s car from and decided to park behind the car after several enquiries as to who parked in his workshop yielded no result.

When the CSO returned, he became infuriated and demanded to know who on earth parked and blocked his car. Efforts by the owner of the workshop Mr Ola to explain that he was waiting for George to come and remove his car so he can do his work worsened the case as George who earlier introduced himself as the CSO to the governor and the son of His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Efeizomor, the Obi of Owa and Chairman, Delta state traditional ruler’s council threatened to shot the mechanic and nothing will happen.

The CSO we learnt in his arrogance further instructed his Orderly to teach Mr Ola a lesson but the younger brother to the mechanic identified as Ema Coker who is a panel beater in the workshop intervened and told the CSO that instructing his Orderly to slap his brother was not the right thing to do. The CSO quickly descended on him with two heavy slaps before his Orderly gave his elder brother Mr Ola the beating of his life. He was beaten blind by the CSO before he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, for treatment.

Mr Andy Okeibunor, an air condition repairer in the workshop was not left out as his attempt to call the CSO to order was also met with heavy slaps and beating. The CSO immediately radioed for a special police unit comprised of 5 officers who were only identified by their red beret to pummel the poor artisan.

“He say he be Obi of Owa pikin and nothing dey happen, say na Okowa dey send am. I vote for Okowa. I no know say na so e go be. End of the day, they carry me put for back of hilux, use leg march me for chest, say I no go see where dem dey carry me dey go”, one of the battered victim narrated. Another of his victim stated how the CSO threatened to shoot him and nothing will happen since he’s Okowa’s brother.

SecretReporters further learned that Mr Andy was later bundled to the GRA Police Station, where he was handed over to the DPO without any written statement by the Red beret officers who we gathered are men of the counter terrorism unit (CTU) attached to Okowa. He regained his freedom after his friends contributed the sum of N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) for his bail on the request of the DPO.

The trio has since approached a Human Rights Lawyer with the hope that justice will take its full course as Deltans in their number condemn the act.

Series of calls to Geroge were not picked. For over two hours, he kept our phone line on ‘busy’, while he answered other calls. He didn’t respond to SMS sent to him.

When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Olisa Ifeajika responded that “there are things that are better ignored for goodness sake if one or two persons have altercation”. He promised to get back to us, which he never did before press time.

The Governor could not be reached for comment on the action of his CSO as he was on a trip to the United States of America (USA) on invitation by Bills and Melinda Gate Foundation.

In an exclusive video obtained by SecretReporters, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Mohammed Argungu who’s the Director-General of National Directorate of Employment (NDE) was clearly seen boasting on how he and six others formed the presidency long before the arrival of the likes of Abba Kyari who allegedly is a spear-head of the cabal and purported to have taken over the presidency while berating the ever powerful President’s nephew and Personal Assistant, Tunde Sabiu.

The astute politician and Cardiologist by training was visibly seen in an interview with some reporters bragging that he is one of the few persons close to Mr President while lamenting on the unfair treatment on an undisclosed allegation against Col. Hammed Ali.

According to him, he and six others sat and formed the government even before the arrival of the powerful Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari who is alleged to be the one indirectly calling the shots in the APC led government of President Mohammadu Buhari. 

“Let me just tell you something, myself, Dr Ibrahim, Col Hammed Ali, Col Abdallah, Col Garba India, Dr Mahmood, Dr M.B. Shehu, Emeka Chairman TETFUND, we are the team there is nothing before the coming of Abba kyari, we sat and formed the Government right from S.As up to ministers to people that are supposed to be appointed as special advisers of the economy, there is nothing I don’t know.”

Col. Hammed Ali is the current Comptroller General of The Nigerian Customs Service. He was appointed to the Comptroller General position by President Muhammadu Buhari on 27 August 2015. Col. Abdallah currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and was appointed into the post by President Muhammadu Buhari on January 11, 2016. Col. Garba India is also the chairman Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) appointed on August 26th 2016.

SecretReporters also learnt that Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, is the President, Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO) and CEO of MBS Engineering Limited an engineering firm involved in power systems designs, building services, and project management amongst other services with a wide clientele base ranging from Federal and State Government Organizations, Transmission Company of Nigeria, Central Bank of Nigeria among others. While Emeka (Chukwuemeka Uwaezuoke Nwajiuba) is the Board chairman Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

Also in the revelation which could be termed as an individual interest in appointments racketeering within the office of the President, Dr Nasiru further stated “If there is anybody at this present moment, If there is anybody that is close to Col. Hammed Ali I am one of them and to be fair to Col. Hammed Ali, all the list he submitted to Mr President, Mr President did not appoint even a single individual talkless of… who is Tunde? Is it just because Tunde is close to Mr President”, thereby disputing the president’s words during his visit to the Obi of Onitsha, Ambassador Emeka Ayo Azikiwe, on the sidelines of his presidential campaign activities in the state, that his appointments were solely based on merit.

Tunde is reputed to be the most powerful man behind the scene in Aso Rock. The less than thirty years old young man we gathered decides who sees Mr Buhari and has allegedly cornered wealth of the nation to himself. He moves around with loads of SSS and other security details that are not available to Ministers. Our sources alleged that he’s on the payroll of most governors especially from the North who seek easy audience and favor from the President.

“The name Tunde was given to him by Buhari in remembrance of his former 2iC, Tunde Idiagbon. He’s said to be fond of Buhari as a toddler and never allowed anyone carry him apart from him, always crawling up to him whenever he comes to Katsina. That was the beginning of their bond.” disclosed our source.

This revelation is coming on the heels of rumours that there might be rancour within the president’s camp especially during and in the build-up to his presidential campaign, with some parties feeling short-changed that only a few now control the decision making process and resources in the Aso Villa.
