Unless there is change of guard or attitude in Delta State Government House, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa should be counting just first term in office revealed insider sources within the government and bitter with it.

Secret Reporters authoritatively gathered that seeing the governor is now likened to the biblical needle passing through the eyes of a camel, as everyone who wants to see the governor but unable to access the liberal Principal Secretary, Hilary Ibegbulem to make way is never allowed access by the Director of Protocol, Mr Ifeanyi Eboigbe.

A source in government house revealed to this medium that the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barr (Mrs) Mary Iyasere in company of  one of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPSDEC), POC Ovidje were prevented from having access to the governor by Eboigbe who told them plainly that “you cannot see the governor’, without any tangible reason last month.

“If you want to see H.E and Hilary is not in the office to make you see him, your name is sorry, as those protocol guys will never give you pass”, a source stated.

The development angered Ovidje who went away with his head bowed and swore never to come near government house again to see the governor, except he invites the board for meetings. So bitter he was and still is that he’s considering embarrassing the governor by resigning from the near moribund commission, a reliable source squealed.

Apart from Ovidje, most appointees of Urhobo extraction are considering leaving the government to face their private businesses, as Okowa is stated to have put governance and resources only in the hands of few persons while starving the rest.

When contacted, a senior appointee who craved anonymity confirmed the grumbling within the government and the imminent mass resignation if the governor does not act fast.

“Is it not your boss that just gave the government a break despite the money he was making? So why should people like us who are starving sink with him when he does not approve our memos”, lamented the aide.

Efforts to contact Eboigbe on this development proved abortive as he never picked his calls nor returned them back.
