The fight in Abia State continues to be messier, as strong revelations have emerged why Abia State Governor, Ikpeazu in concert with his predecessor, T.A Orji plotted the removal of the erstwhile speaker of the Assembly for his refusal to agree to the sharing of the Paris fund that was released to the state.

Secret Reporters reliably gathered from top sources within the government circles that the first tranche of the Paris fund that came to Abia state was over N20 billion.

The second tranche was also in same amount. Trouble started when the House of Assembly members approached the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike to tell him to approach the Governor and demand for N50 million for each house members, according to the lawmakers, N20 million will be for them to spend frivolously while N30 million will be loans to them, but the former speaker would have none of that.

Instead, when he went to meet the governor, he told him to use the Paris debt money to clear workers salaries and pensioners.

Gov. Ikpeazu felt challenged and from then on, plotted to get a speaker from his own locality that will do his bidding. In conjunction with Chinedu Orji, they met behind closed doors and told them that Azubuike is insensitive to their plights.

The refusal to share the money and make his colleagues run away with N50 million constituted one of the impeachable offences they had against him.This is according to a top source who is a member of the State House of Assembly.

In a choreographed script, Ikpeazu brought in Kennedy Njoku to be the speaker but Chinedum Orji had his plans rolled up. As soon as Njoku emerged, he was forced to resign by Chinedum who brought in Chikwendu Kalu to replace him.

The new speaker and the Governor are from same Ngwa axis, as Azubuike has vowed to challenge his impeachment in court.
