Secrets Reporters
Following a N1,2 BILLION NAIRA BRIBE REPORT by Secrets Reporters on how the Niger State House of Assembly lawmakers have allegedly been bribed for easy passage of the Gov. Babangida Aliyu desperate and evil plans of creating more emirates; the legislative arm has come out to deny the report.
In a press release sent to media houses including ours, it stated that “The attention of the Niger State House of Assembly has been drawn to a publication on an on line social media, the Secret Reporters edition of Monday, the 13th of April, 2015.
The publication titled Governor Mu’azu of Niger State in last minute N1.2b looting to frustrate new government is false, baseless, unfounded and a figment of the authors imagination.
In the story the authors alleged that the State House of Assembly was bribed by the State Government with N1.2b to fastrack the creation of additional chiefdoms out of the present Bida, Kontagora and Minna Emirate councils.
Let me put the record straight that, at no any time, the Executive arm of government forwarded such a bill to the House talkless of the Assembly receiving a whooping sum of over one billion naira.
In as much the State Assembly will be pleased to receive constructive criticisms, it takes exception to blantant lies and insinuations that will set the Assembly up against the electorate.
It may interest the authors of the story to know that, as part of its deliberate effort to cut the cost of governance, the State Assembly has just adopted a motion calling for the dissolution of certain political offices in the state.s
In view of this one may be forced to ask, where lies the allegation of the same legislature now receiving huge amount of money from government.
It is our hope that, those who have interest of reporting activities of the State House of Assembly in both electronic, print and social media are advised to always seek for clarifications before publications.
