A Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2007 governorship aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has expressed optimism that Delta State governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa will not disappoint the Urhobos.
Speaking during a solidarity/thank you visit by members of Urhobo Renaisance Initiative of Oghara, Chief Onuesoke explained that his optimism was based on the fact that Senator Okowa is a grass root politician that has a pan Deltan agenda”. He is an experienced politician who knows the yearnings of Deltans. So the Urhobos should be rest assured that he is not going to disappoint them”.
Onuesoke, however, urged the Urhobos to continue to support the governor and the PDP and not to be lured to support the opposition.
While thanking the group for the visit, Onuesoke stated that the visit will spur him to do more for the Urhobos, Delta State, Nigeria and humanity.
The President General of Urhobo Renaissance Initiative, Comrade James Amrasavwore had earlier in a written address commended Chief Sunny Onuesoke for his unflinching support for the Delta State governor, Senator Okowa and the PDP in spite of threats and condemnation from some misguided Urhobos.
Onuesoke also got a pat on his back for using his NGO, Network For Good Governance, in the advancement of democracy and rendering useful information to the World on regular basis.
Onuesoke was again hailed by the group for floating a foundation which they said has been helping in checking the menace of climate change and protecting the environment.
