Barely two years into his appointed office, a students affairs aide to Delta State Governor, has been kicked out of the government house on Monday.
The aide, Mr Osedume Francis Iwedike who’s the Special Assistant on Students Affairs lost his position following a political treason against the State Government, sources familiar with his sack told SecretReporters.
According to our Government House sources, the Governor ordered his sack after the Senior Special Assistant, Mr Jerry Ehiwario narrated to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on how Francis leaked sensitive documents indicting the senior aide to the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU) who petitioned him and leaked the letter to the press.
We gathered that Francis gathered all the approved memos of Jerry and took them to the apex union body who were miffed that a whooping sum of N58 million has been given to Jerry so far, but has done nothing with it but rather squandered it.
Okowa immediately ordered for Francis sack for not bringing the matter before him but took it to the public in order to ridicule his administration. The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Festus Agas is currently with the sack letter. Francis according to insiders have been called to come for his letter but has refused to go for it.
He was appointed in 2019 when the governor visited one of the tertiary institutions and watched him speak, an act that impressed him and got him appointed on the spot. Since his appointment, he has been at loggerheads with Jerry over financial transactions approved for the student body.
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have recieved petitions against Mr Jerry for many fraudulent activities and living above his salary since 2015 to date. One of the petitions which was adopted on Wednesday will get him to fly over to Abuja before the month end to answer the investigators.
