Mrs Lizzy Inoaghan is supposed to be enjoying her matrimonial home as well as her official duties as the First Lady of Sapele Local Government Area in Delta State alongside her husband, Mr Eugene Inoaghan who is the council boss, but tears have been her meals since Eugene got the coveted position, independent findings by SecretReporters has revealed.
This medium in its scrutiny of what various wives of council boss has achieved since they were sworn in two years again, we found out that for Sapele, the LG Chairman who was 22 years old when he married then 18 years old Lizzy no longer see in her his sweet bride of yesteryears but has deliberately refused to accord her the honor due to council First Ladies.
Since the tenure of Eugene started, he has not allowed the wife to organize the Children’s day, visited the first babies of the New Year in the hospitals and has not approved anything for her to carry out her functions. According to knowledgeable sources, he does not introduce her to people as First Lady, thus making it look like there is no such position in Sapele. “They always look down at her”.
He has also stopped paying her salaries, that’s a meagre N180,000 monthly. We gathered that she lost her mother of over 100 years old in March, but the burial could not hold due to the COVID-19 lockdown that was in place then. Since the ban has been lifted, Eugene who is supposed to spearhead the burial as the most senior in-law has bluntly refused to act, stating that he is not prepared yet for the burial.
The council boss who has been married to the wife for almost 40 years has other wives he takes care of, especially the youngest who is same age with his last child. For years, they live like strangers with both of them entering the same house but going to their various rooms to eat without talking to each other.
SecretReporters also gathered that the current car she drives was bought by her as there is no money attached to the office of the First Lady. He paid her N180,000 for just one year and later reduced it before finally stopping it.
“The way he maltreats the First Lady looks like he had someone in mind to give the position but could not do it, as it will cause backlash, since they both started life together, which is a common story in Sapele. He doesn’t also take care of his children”, a source confided in us.
When contacted for his response, the council boss denied the allegation stating that there was no atom of truth in it as she has been carrying out her duties.
