Secret Reporters
Following the news making the rounds on various media platforms that the embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC was earlier arrested by the Department of State Security DSS, credible sources within the commission squealed to SecretReporters that Ibrahim Magu was not arrested but only honoured an invitation to appear before a five-man panel set up by the Federal Government in reaction to the letter from Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation AGF.
The panel which is headed by the Chief of Staff to the president, Ibrahim Gambari had earlier invited Magu to appear before it over allegation of discrepancies in handling of forfeited properties, recovered looted funds from Public office holders and fraudsters, and abuse of office among others.
Magu’s fate we learned lies on the report of the panel, as there are strong indications that he might be sacked if the allegations are true and may face the wrath of the law as hinted by President Muhammadu Buhari who is said to be embittered with the allegations.
