SPILLED! HOW VP OSIBANJO CORNERED KEY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AHEAD OF HIS 2023 AGENCIES

  • Prof. Yemi Osibanjo’s Silent “Plot” That May  Cost Him His Job
  • The Agencies He Has Positioned To Help Him Grab Power Come 2023; And
  •  Why Tinubu Ditched Osibanjo

Forget about the narratives flying that the cabal wants the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo out of the way to pave way for the North to retain power come 2023.

Much as the cabal has notoriety of stirring disruptions in their inordinate ambition to hold on to power beyond 2023, the current ordeal of the Vice President is entirely about the ambition of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo that has seen him subtly plot strategies without the approval of his principal, LeadingReporters can authoritatively report.

While many hail the tradermoni initiative, the Vice President, according to our investigation leverages on the scheme to endear the electorates to himself ahead of 2023.

A Discreet investigation carried out by LeadingReporters further revealed that the VP from the word go, has been subtly plotting around launching himself as the next Nigeria President.  How did he sail into the water that is about to consume him and why is his patron and longtime political godfather, Ahmed Tinubu ditching him when the Vice President needs him most?  These are the million dollar questions, asking for answers.

Firstly, the VP has strategically, and subtly positioned his  cronies in all strategic government offices under his watch.  The reason is not about delivering on President Muhammadu Buhari’s promises to the Nigerian electorates, but the VP,  from all indications is plotting for his own political future.

Our investigation revealed that VP has so far grabbed the loyalty and commitment of his ‘boys’ in some revenue generating and virtually in all the anticorruption agencies.  One office that however eluded the VP’s grip was the Department of State Security Service, DSS.

This quest, necessitated the sack of the former DSS DG Lawal Daura, in the absence of the President.  Although the VP has what may be termed genuine reasons for sacking Lawal Daura as the DSS DG,  he had hoped to  ‘plant’ his own stooge as the DG but his plans met brick walls as the cabal immediately disrupted the structure and planted their preferred candidate.

The importance of these offices to VP’s presidential ambition come 2023 includes ensuring inflow of money for his campaigns.  Furthermore, the VP, according to LeadingReporters investigation had hoped to leverage on the anti-corruption agencies headed by his loyalists to undo and weaken his oppositions.

These are the offices that VP has subtly ‘grabbed’ towards realizing his presidential ambition, come 2023.

1. ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIME COMMISSION

In the days of Ibrahim Magu’s crises with Bukola Saraki-led Senate, the VP was more or less the lone voice that spoke for Magu.  The VP cashed in on the crises and curried Mr. Magu’s loyalty. EFCC is one of the offices directly under the supervision of the VP.  The VP is believed to have the backing and support of Magu towards his 2023 presidential ambition.  The EFCC is expected to play some disruptive roles that would see oppositions being grounded with extensive investigations and prosecution. The Secretary And Chief of Staff to Magu is the Vice President’s connecting pole with Mr. Ibrahim Magu.

2. FEDERAL INLAND REVENUE SERVICE (FIRS)

Mr. Babatunde Fowler, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue is the Vice President’s ‘boy’:  Our investigation revealed that it was the Vice President who introduced Fowler to Tinubu when Tinubu was the Governor of Lagos State.  The role FIRS, under Fowler would be to water the ground for VP’s campaign.  However, VP had wanted Mr Fowler to saddle the position of the Central Bank Governor.  A plan that was met another brick wall.

3. NATIONAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (NEMA):

NEMA is the ‘crises point’ for the Vice President for the now.  Investigation revealed that the VP has been approving funds incessantly to the agency.  The bulk of the money is believed to have been diverted for reasons other than what they were meant for.

4.  INDEPENDENT CORRUPT PRACTICES AND OTHER RELATED OFFENCES COMMISSION (ICPC):

ICPC is directly under the supervision of the VP.  The chairman of ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye Is the choice candidate of Prof. Yemi Osibanjo. Like EFCC, Osibanjo positioned this anti-corruption agency to help ‘uproot’ his opponents by exposing all crimes linked to them and prosecuting them in the court.  This way, these folks would be seen as ‘unworthy’ of contesting alongside the VP.

5. SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL INVESTIGATION PANEL (SPIP):

This panel is the brainchild of the Vice President. This special panel, formerly headed by Mr. Okoi Obono Obla was alleged to have been the platform that would be used to gather all manners of information about corruption allegations bordering on people seen to be going to create a hitch for the realization of Vice President’s presidential ambition.  With these information handy, opponent of the VP would be de-cashed and their properties seized. However, Obla was most recently sacked from office by President Muhammdu Buhari and he is currently facing corruption cases.

6. BUREAU OF PUBLIC ENTERPRISES (BPE):

Like NEMA and FIRS, it is planned that the BPE would join its financial muscle with other revenue generating agencies which are supervised by VP. The DG, Alex Okoh was strategically placed for this reason. BPE was the agency through which current Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai routed out billions of Naira to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

7. NIGER DELTA POWER HOLDING COMPANY (NDPHC):

The Managing Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company worked for the Vice President in his Chambers.  In fact, it was alleged that the VP personally ensured that all the corruption allegations on Chiedu Ugbo was ‘buried’ by the anticorruption agencies.  The VP was said to have personally stepped in to ensure that Mr. Ugbo’s appointment was regularized as the Managing Director of NDPHC.
