DESPERATE MOVE? LESS THAN 72 HOURS TO KOGI ELECTION, IGP DEPLOYS GOV. YAHAYA BELLO’S IMMEDIATE PAST ADC USMAN MUSA AS HEAD OF SECURITY FOR COLLATION CENTRES

Secret Reporters

With less than 72 hours to the Kogi State gubernatorial elections, Governor Yahaya Bello appears to have begun putting finishing touches on his already perfected plans to sway voters his way in the elections scheduled to hold on Saturday 16th November 2019.

In a police wireless message dated 05/11/2019 with reference number LET.NO.CJ:1800/FDPS/DOPS/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.4/606 seen by SecretReporters shows that CSP Usman Musa, the immediate past Aide-de-camp (ADC) of the Governor has been deployed to head and coordinate security personnel deployed to Registration Area Centres (RAC) and Super Registration Area Centres (SRAC) across the state.

The controversial deployment according to sources is purported to be a ploy by the incumbent governor who is also the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to use the police under the command of CSP Usman Musa as a veritable tool in determining the outcome of the elections in his favour since his erstwhile ADC will be directly in charge of safeguarding electoral materials during collation of results.

“It is now clear to us that our votes will not count, because the police are going to be used to rig the elections for APC. There is no moral justification why Usman Musa should be deployed for the election. For what! Is he the only one in the entire Police Force?” stated the source.

“This is unacceptable! It can’t work and we will resist this evil plot. The elevation now is between the Kogites and police. Last week, Bello AO Aminu was made to head CTU and today His ADC to head INEC head RAC team. Thugs will be made to do anyhow while the police will do stand and look. But this one too will fail”, another source stated.

Information made available to SecretReporters which we could not independently verify also revealed that while serving as the ADC of the governor, CSP Usman Musa was allegedly the head of the dangerous squad of the Governor; using other deadly officers from other commands as accomplices. It was also alleged that the CSP was involved in questionable dealings leading to series of violent attacks on opposition party supporters in previous elections.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council also rejected the deployment of the erstwhile ADC describing the police as being bias in deploying CSP Usman Musa to INEC for election monitoring.

In a statement by the party’s campaign council Deputy Director of Public Communication, Comrade Austin Okai, he warned INEC in Kogi State and the national level to desist from making moves capable of compromising the election as supporting the deployment of the Kogi governor’s head of killer squad for election monitoring was a clear move to do so.

He further appealed to the state’s police commissioner and the Inspector General of Police to rescind its decision to involve CSP Usman Musa who was recently transferred from the state ahead of the forthcoming election as he was fingered in the shoot-out at the primaries organized by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which led to its abrupt end.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba through calls and SMS as at press time proved abortive.
