AFTER LOOTING DESOPADEC FUNDS; MAKINDE BEGS JOURNALISTS TO KILL STORIES FOR GIVING THEM RICE AND GROUNDNUT OIL

Secrets Reporters

Series of Reports on fraud has trailed the Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission(DESOPADEC) and how he has turned the commission to an money making venture for himself and his cronies.
We had earlier reported that Makinde bribed Journalists in Delta State with half bags of rice and N2000, in some cases, while others got N1500.

In line with our credible reportage and facts exposure on DESOPADEC, Makiinde and his group are mounting serious pressures on Media men within and outside the state, to kill all reports emanating from the commission which is not in the best interest of Makinde and the board members.

In trying to gag the media, Makinde through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Prince Oromonokpaye, listed various good deeds of his boss to journalists in Delta State, rather than defend the allegations tearing the commission apart.

He said, “Are you not aware that he gave rice to all the journalists in the state before the Christmas celebration? He is also planning a training session for all the journalists in the state. “He gathered journalists round the state and gave them bags of rice and oil. So if you see reports like that, you don’t need to call me before killing it. “When NUJ members were holding their annual week in Asaba, he gave them money for the weeklong event.

If he is reaching journalists and the same journalists turn around to bite him will he do it again?
We gave 225 journalists in the state xmas benefits. “We did it because they are my colleagues, so let’s encourage the Managing Director to work for the state.
A training programme is coming for journalists and he is sponsoring the training.”

This was what he told a 247ureports Journalist.

My Dear young man, as a media guru, the MD, having served as the Director of Finance and Administration in DAAR Communications PLC, do not need to bribe journalist with 1,500 to get their “cooperation” if he so wish. He has all the journalists, not only in the state but in the country at his disposal. Contrary to your “credible reportage and facts exposure”-it is obvious you are bereft of ideas in your chosen vocation and that is why the intended training will be of immense value to you.
