24 HOURS THIEVES: DELTA STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION BOSS OYIBO IN BRIBERY AND PROMOTION SCANDAL

Secret Reporters

Despite attempts by the Delta State Governor, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa’s attempt to sanitize the Civil Service in the State, information reaching our medium reveals that the Governor may never succeed as the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission; Mr Olumami Oyibo is bent on frustrating the process.

According to information squeaked to us, the decision to review promotion of local government workers done in the past has met a brick wall. It was discovered that some civil servants were unduly promoted above their seniors, which prompted a petition to the commission to look into the matter.

Investigation carried out by the Commission unearthed mammoth fraud in the promotion, leading to a recommendation that those who were promoted without merit should immediately reverse back to their position.

We however gathered that thirty three affected persons met and discussed the possibility of maintaining their undue promotion, where they levied themselves the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira each to bribe the Commission Chairman through two of their team members, namely, Joseph Ibegbulem and Emmanuel Okolo. The total money that will be given to the Chairman is One Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N1.6 Million), which he has allegedly agreed to collect to stop the act.

The money will be taken to Asaba tomorrow morning to allegedly be given to Mr Oyibo

One of those affected is the current clerk of the Aniocha North legislative Council, Mrs Ogobah Ugbodu. Documents available in our possession showed that she’s currently on Grade Level 13, she’s not due for that promotion yet, as she was previously promoted to GL 12 on 1st July 2016 and can only be due for GL 13 after three years, which is 2019, if she passes the promotion exam.
