Politics in Nigeria is being run like one’s personal business without attention to bureaucracy, and respecting it as an entity to aid the decision making process in a state. A meeting between the Governor, the National Assembly Members and House of Assembly members elected on the platform of the APC has been concluded at the Governor’s office in Abeokuta.

Secret Reporters gathered that those present at the meeting were Senator Lanre Tejuoso, Senator Dada, Hon Micky Kazeem, Hon Williams, Hon Kunle Akinlade and other House of Reps members. Also members of the Ogun State House of Assembly were all present including the Speaker Rt. Honourable Suraj Adekunbi.

The meeting was slated for 9am in the morning and members arrived before time. It officially started late in the afternoon when the Governor declared the meeting open in the presence of party leaders like Chief Derin Adebiyi, Chief Ojuko and others.

There was tension in the air, after the governor revealed jokingly to all of them, that none of them will be returning to their elected posts. He added that his decision is final. The Governor however singled out Hon Micky Kazeem and Hon Kunle Akinlade saying he might consider them later. During the meeting, he asked Hon Akinlade if his governorship aspirations was egged on by him to which Akinlade responded in the negative.

At this point, there was a disagreement as Senator Lanre Tejuoso representing Ogun Central Senatorial district objected to what the Governor said. He made it known to Amosun that he would be seeking re-election and he would go into the primaries with anyone.

In anger, the Governor shouted him down but Tejuoso unperturbed, stood his grounds. Realizing that Tejuso was not bothered, he later in a sarcastic manner told the Senator jokingly that truly the primary is supreme.

The Governor during the meeting allegedly told Senator Tejuoso about the news on the SSG’s ambition and Tejuoso replied that they should be allowed to go to the primaries. He said, that only the governor’s decision in going for senate would make him reconsider his decision. In response to this, the governor said that he was unsure of this at the moment.

Amosun also told the Speaker, Rt Hon Suraj Adekunbi to his face that it’s the end of the road for his political aspiration, announcing that very few of the current Ogun House of Assembly members will be considered by him to return to their various legislative duties. The words from the governor got Hon. Idowu Fuja and Hon. Tunde Sanusi smiling.

Few of the leaders present tried to play diplomacy but it was to no avail. The meeting ended with members leaving the Governor’s office with somber expressions on their faces.
