Younger members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have said that the reconciliation effort of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu must also be extended to them because they are equally aggrieved.

The members who identified themselves as Younger Stakeholders of the APC stated this while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

Speaking on behalf of other members, Dominic Alancha said the younger stakeholders have in the past few weeks met to look into several issues in the party particularly the crisis in the various state chapters, the proposed tenure elongation and the proposed amendment of the party constitution.

He said the young stakeholders welcome the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to reconcile aggrieved members of the party, but called on the reconciliator to constitute a formidable team that will help him in carrying out the assignment.

“The meetings discussed the crisis rocking the party in Kogi, Rivers, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano and many other states across the country and therefore welcome the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconcile aggrieved members of the party. However, we call on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to constitute a team of eminent party leaders and members to help him carry out this assignment of reconciling the aggrieved party members including the younger stakeholders who are equally aggrieved. We also call on the party members not to undermine the mission that the President has set out for the National Leader,” Alancha said while addressing the press.

On the issues of tenure elongation proposed for all parties leaders at all levels, the young stakeholders said it is yet to take a position on the matter as there is a sharp division amongst members who are in support or against the elongation. He however added that consultation remains ongoing so as to reach a position on the issue.

While pledging unalloyed support for President Muhamadu Buhari and assuring him of their readiness to work with him to win in the 2019 presidential election if he chooses to run, the young stakeholders called on the party leadership to begin a total reform of the party so as to make it an institution that will be to the benefit of all interested members.

“We resolved not to take anything to chance especially as it concerns the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming election. We pledge our unalloyed support for him and assure him of our willing partnership if he chooses to run for another term. This is why the party leadership must hasten the total reform we envisage and this must be done with the constitution as a guide.”

The stakeholders frowned at the manner the draft amendment of the constitution of the party is being shrouded in secrecy.

They said the amendment to the constitution has further alienated young people from the party with the proposed removal of zonal youth leaders and zonal women leaders from the National Working Committee when it should be expanded the space for the political participation of more young people.

“The draft constitution can best be described as a mess as it has flagrantly and insolently removed the zonal youth leaders and zonal women leaders of the party from the National Executive Committee which the present constitution allows, and then made themselves members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee and the Advisory Council which is replacing the Board of Trustees.”

The young stakeholder said the implication of this proposal is that there will be no checks and balances as the same set of people will take decisions and approve same in the different organs of the party.

“While we consider this as a laudable development, the motive behind it appears suspicious. As at today, only very few members of the party are aware that there is a draft constitution. One would expect that the party leadership would have publicly displayed the draft constitution for the input of every member, but the whole exercise has been shrouded in secrecy,” they said.

“To many of them, the party is a vehicle for winning elections, to us it is more than that – it is an institution of democracy and we must do everything to preserve it.”

To correct this, the stakeholders noted that they have constituted a committee to review the draft constitution with the aim of making provisions that will be to the benefit of all members irrespective of age, gender and other demographies.

“The committee has already began work in earnest and the recommendations expected would be forwarded to the appropriate quarters,” the stakeholders stated.

They expressed readiness to meet with the president, the vice president, the chairman of the party and other top party leaders so as to chart a way forward for the APC and make it the only viable political party in Nigeria, adding that they will not sit and watch an institution they have built with their time, energy and resources destroyed by a selfish few.

Chief Rochas Okorocha, the indefatigable rambling Imo State governor has a new agenda he wants to introduce in the state since Senator Ifeanyi Araraume indicated his interest for the governorship race of the state come 2019: Hatred.

The governor who believes and has said that Araraume is not ‘Godly’ and cannot govern Imo State, has shown himself as the rightful person that lacks spiritual knowledge and the fear of God.

This is odiferous in the carriage with which Okorocha who thinks that he dines with God and is a family member of the Jehovahs, showcases himself in keeping malice and playing politics of acrimony, deceit and self-conceit.

These qualities, without a doubt, run in Okorocha’s blood like a virus and may be seen as his trademark. If not, one wonders why he would believe that Araraume would not earn his support and he would decide who Imo governor becomes in 2019 or not.

The bad displeasure governor had shown his ungodly manners not only to Araraume but to many too numerous to mention. For instance, the Agbasos of Emekuku, near Owerri, will never forget the double tongue they earned from Okorocha after he deceived their son, Jude, to become his deputy.

Jude Agbaso was later hounded out of office through some spurious, thrumpeted and kangaroo allegations. This happened after Okorocha had ‘swore’ before Chief Martin Agbaso, in the latter’s palatable compound at Emekuku, saying that Jude would go far with him in governance.

The raging Okorocha did that to earn the support of Martin, yet knowing deeply in his heart that he would not go far with Jude in the Imo politics. And this is what happened!

Many know Okorocha as a man who cannot be relied on when it comes to politics and Araraume perhaps knew about this peculiarity of the effusive Imo governor yet he loved him.

In the event of the 2015 elections in Imo State, Araraume directed his supporters to vote for Okorocha while believing that his action would be for Imo interest, oblivious that Okorocha would be an accident that many had thought would not happen in governance.

Araraume who was and has always been influential in the Nigerian politics gave the APC victory in Imo in the outcome of the April 11 2015 guber election. Araraume delivered APC in the six local governments of Okigwe zone, where Araraume comes from.

The Araraume whom Okorocha wants the world to believe today that has no fear of God, the latter presented glowing tributes of the former when he put the APC in the lead with over 79,000 votes.

“I want to tell you that I have seen a true man of integrity, a true great son of Imo State who came out to support me and the APC in the governorship elections without asking for a kobo,” Okorocha told the world after the 2015 guber election. “All he asked for is that the interest of his supporters and Imo people be protected. That man is Senator Araraume.”

This is the quintessential Araraume: A man whom many believe in that can put his head, not only leg, in a matter he so much believes in. Araraume so much believed in Okorocha, whom the Imo residents are suffering from the wound of the disaster that Okorocha has festered in the state today.

In the same year while in a church service at the Government House Chapel, Owerri, Okorocha was occupied of praises for Araraume. In short, Okorocha so much praised Araraume for the support he showed him, as a major determinant reason he won at the elections. If Araraume had no meek and amiable heart, he would not have supported Okorocha even when he was in another party, pre-election of 2015, other than the APC which produced Okorocha.

Let us not say that Okorocha is today sold out to greed and self-enrichment, while forgetting the hands that fed him. The irony is that he did not only forget the hands that fed him, but also, embroidered them with the mud.

Let us not also say that Okorocha is a chronic liar and deceiver who can do anything as a (godly person he wants the world to believe he is) just to get political power. And Araraume supported him to gain that political power and today, he is using it to inflict mayhem on Araraume.

Let us say that Okorocha is not ashamed of the malnutrition, hunger-related deaths, joblessness and food insecurity that have characterised Imo State sine seven years he has been in power. Instead of him to show remorse that Araraume is not the problem of Imo State, Okorocha concentrates on his long-term policies of blame game, over conceit, the unfortunate glowing tribute of the disgraced and resigned ex-president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.

The insult which Okorocha is giving to Araraume today is unwarranted. But like Araraume would say to the rambling Okorocha, “It is only God who arrogates power, nobody can decide the fate of another; if you do that you will only be challenging your God. My destiny is in no man’s hand but God in 2019.”

Secret Reporters

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ULO, Uche Okpuno  will be a subject for the media to feast on in days to come, Secret Reporters has learned. Everything has been put in place in the media to bring down the image of the Chairman and his ULO for the past jobs he did in Delta State, which the current Governor has frowned at.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Fred Oghenesivbe has fired the first warning in a widely circulated Press Release, with permission from his boss, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Okowa commended the management of the new contractors handling the upgrade construction of Asaba International Airport runway, Setraco Nigeria, for the quality of work done within a short period of time.

The EA Communications in a statement disclosed that the ongoing speed of work at the airport is a proof of the corporate integrity so far exhibited by Setraco Nigeria; as against the “maradona approach” shamefully displayed by the blacklisted former contractors, Ulo Consultants Ltd.

The state government posited that Chief Chris Okpuno and ULO Consultants disappointed the government and people of Delta State, beyond tolerable proportion even though the state government fulfilled its part of the contractual obligations.

“When we say that ULO Consultants is an irresponsible corporate entity, it is meant that it lacked reputation and ability to deliver on several promises made after deliberately undermining the time frame stipulated and as contained in the legal documents perfected by both parties.

“Setraco, the new contractors as a responsible corporate citizen has shown reasonable signs that it will deliver as agreed in the month of July 2018; a stride that ULO Consultants could not achieve in nearly three years; which overwhelmingly gave the impression of advance fee fraud on the part of ULO, popularly known as 419 among fraudsters and their mugu victims.

“Of a truth, the government and people of Delta State were duped by ULO Consultants and its directors for which Chief Okpuno played key roles as Chief contract negotiator and principal signatory to the unfortunate deal.

“We must as a people and government appreciate the management of Setraco Nigeria for taking proactive steps to deliver on promise, a conduct impossible for Chief Okpuno and his unscrupulous contracting firm,” Oghenesivbe added.

Some aides of the Governor who reached out to Secret Reporters stated that there was no day that Okowa praised Okpuno for the airport job, describing suvh video clips as only existing in the imaginations of Secret Reporters and Okpuno.
