2019 FEVER: HOW OKOWA WAS BOXED TO A CORNER TO MAKE TOM AMIOKU AND EMEYESE BOARD MEMBERS OF CAPITAL TERRITORY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Secret Reporters

Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa may have inaugurated the Chairman and members the Board of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), but what Deltans and Nigerians are not aware of is that it was not his initial will to do so quickly enough or even consider some of those he appointed on the board.

According to a government inside and top member of the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), it took threats by Chief Tom Amioku and Sunny Emeyese before Okowa finally bowed to their desire.

We gathered that both of them threatened to decamp to the All Progressive Congress (APC) if they are not rewarded with appointments. Even though they never told the governor openly, they told those close to the governor of their plans and this was relayed to the number one citizen.

For fear of losing more prominent members who can actually deliver their wards and local governments during elections to the APC, Okowa drafted their names and sent to the State House of Assembly for confirmation, which was done without delay.

Tom Amioku is one of those who ran Delta State underground, as a politician who has been in every government since 1999 and refused to retire. They will soon be given brand new Prado Jeeps to paint Asaba red as part of their perks in office. One of the appointees has rented a house in Asaba

The four-man board includes Amioku as Chairman; Sunny Emeyese, Mrs. Chinwe Monu-Olarewaju and Chief Austin Igbine as members.

The Director General of the board is Mr Clement Ofuani, who allegedly built an interlock car park of the agency for N60 million. Since its creation, the board has achieved nothing but wasted funds of the state.

  1. must delta state keep recycling individuals that have outlived their productive cycle into boards & other government agencies? Like it or not this Governor seems out of ideas on bringing fresh ideas on board to take Delta to the next level. Am disappointed beyond measure & how long will these boot lickers hold us to ransom?
